1About this agreement
This agreement is between Figure 8 Results ("Figure 8", "we", "us") and the client named in the signing section ("you"). It sets out exactly what we will do to get your business showing in more of Google's local results across your suburbs, what we need from you, what it costs and who owns the work.
It builds on the Google Business Profile, review and Facebook work you have started over the last six weeks. We don't repeat that work. We tighten it and add to it.
2Website work
All website work is done on your existing WordPress website, under your hosting and your accounts.
Month 1: foundation
In the first month we improve the service pages you already have before adding new ones:
- test the site's speed in the first week and send you the starting scores, then improve its speed and how it works on phones. The speed scores are in every monthly report (section 6);
- rewrite the page titles, headings and descriptions on your existing service pages;
- add structured data (schema), built around your exact list of services and suburbs in Schedule A, so Google clearly understands what you do and where you work.
From month 2: suburb and service pages
Every month from month 2:
- 3 new suburb pages, in your order in Schedule A, starting with Ryde.
- 2 blog posts, based on what people in your area search for.
- 1 new or updated service page, in your order in Schedule A, starting with EV chargers.
- If you want to push a particular area faster, tell us and we will focus the month's pages on that area.
Every page is written from scratch for its own suburb or service. We never copy a page and swap the suburb name.
How new pages look
New and updated pages match the rest of your site, so it doesn't look like two different websites. A new colour scheme across the whole site is a separate one-off job. We are happy to quote it once we've seen the back end of your site.
Every week, and ongoing
- Weekly: a check of your pages and the links between your service, suburb and home pages.
- Ongoing: we monitor your rankings and your website's health throughout the month and fix problems we find.
3Google Business Profile and Facebook work
Setup, in month 1
- Address: your address updated to 496A Victoria Rd, Ryde, and hidden so your profile shows as a service-area business. We do this with you in the first week. Google can ask you to verify your business again after an address change, and where you show on the map moves with the address (see section 8).
- Your full list of categories and services, checked against the work you actually do.
- Your business description.
- Service areas built around your suburbs.
- Your photos sorted and organised.
Every week
- We reply to every review you receive.
- 2 Google posts a week, rotating through your suburb and service lists in Schedule A so every suburb and service gets its turn.
- We add your new job photos.
- Facebook and Instagram: every Google post also goes on your Facebook page, and on your Instagram when it is linked to your Facebook page. Stories and Reels are not included.
The posts are yours. You can use them however you like, including in Meta ads.
Every month
- A map report showing where you rank across your suburbs, not just one number.
- A steady push for new reviews (section 5).
4Photos
When a job is finished, you or your team take photos on your phone and add them to the shared album: at least 1 photo from every job, and at least 5 a week. This is your side of the work (Schedule A). We do the rest: sizing, naming and adding them to your Google Business Profile and your website.
5Reviews
- A one-tap review link for your customers.
- Tap and QR review cards for your counter, each of your work vans and each of your laptops, supplied by us at no extra cost.
- Onsite, every customer: before leaving, your tech taps the card on the customer's phone or the customer scans the QR code.
- Your SMS and invoice requests: you keep sending them, and we set up the wording and the review link for them.
- You never need to send us any customer's details.
- We reply to every review that comes in.
We follow Google's review rules: every customer is asked, not only the happy ones, and no discount or reward of any kind is offered for a review, by us or by your business. Google doesn't allow it.
6Reporting
Each month you receive the map report (section 3), your website's speed scores (section 2), a short summary of the work done that month, and the calls, website clicks and direction requests shown on your Google Business Profile for the month.
7Fees and payment
- $500 per month. This rate stays locked in for as long as this agreement continues without a break.
- The fee is charged monthly in advance, starting on the start date, by card through our secure payment link.
- No GST is charged. Figure 8 Results is not registered for GST. If that changes, we will tell you in writing before it affects your fee.
- We can only change the fee by giving you at least 30 days' written notice. If you don't accept the change, you can end this agreement before it takes effect, with no penalty.
8Our top 3 commitment
If your business is not in the top 3 of Google's map results for your target searches within 90 days of the day your address change (section 3) goes through, we will keep doing all of the work in this agreement at no charge until it is. Once the target is reached, the monthly fee starts again from the next billing date.
How it works
- Target searches: "electrician Ryde", "electrician Hunters Hill" and "electrician Lane Cove". Where you show on the map moves with your address, so the 90 days start the day your address change (section 3) goes through. Your other suburbs, in your order (Concord, Drummoyne, Gladesville, Epping, Rhodes, Meadowbank and Marsfield), are in your monthly map report (section 6), so you can see where you sit in each one.
- The target: your business shows in the top 3 of Google's map results for at least 2 of the 3 target searches. The target does not step up over time. It stays on the target searches.
- How we check: each search is checked on Google from inside the suburb it names. We share the result with you as a screenshot or map report, so you can see it for yourself.
What we need from you for the commitment to apply
- At least 2 new Google reviews each month.
- The review card used with every customer onsite, and no discount or reward of any kind offered for a review (section 5).
- Job photos sent when we ask for them (section 4).
- The access in section 10 within 5 business days of the start date.
- You tell us before changing your business name, address or main type of business.
- Monthly fees paid on time.
If one of these isn't met, we will let you know in writing and you have 7 days to fix it. The commitment does not apply for any period in which it isn't met.
What it doesn't cover
A suspension of your Google Business Profile that we did not cause, or Google removing or significantly changing its map results. The commitment is the free continuation of our work described above. It does not include a refund.
9Term and cancellation
- This agreement runs month to month from the start date. There is no lock-in period.
- Either of us can cancel with 30 days' written notice, by email or text.
- Fees are payable up to the end of the notice period. There is no cancellation fee.
10Access
You give us manager access to your Google Business Profile, editor access to your WordPress website, access to your Facebook page and linked Instagram so we can post to them, and 15 minutes on a setup call to lock in your suburbs and services. We use this access only to do the work in this agreement, and we never need your passwords. When the agreement ends, we remove our access.
11Ownership
Everything we build for you sits in your own accounts: your website, your Google Business Profile, your Facebook page and your Instagram. Once paid for, it is 100% yours. If you pause or end this agreement, nothing is removed or switched off. It all stays live and working. The only things that stay ours are our own software, templates and checklists.
12One electrician per area
While this agreement is active, we will not take on any other electrician as a client if they are based in the Ryde, Hunters Hill, Lane Cove or Canada Bay council areas, or in Marsfield, North Ryde, Macquarie Park, Ryde, Eastwood or Epping.
13Results and liability
Google decides how businesses rank. Other than the commitment in section 8, we do not promise any particular position or number of calls or jobs. We are not responsible for changes made by Google, outages of other platforms, or ranking changes caused by things outside our control, such as algorithm updates or competitor activity. Our total liability under this agreement is limited to the fees you paid us in the previous 3 months.
Nothing in this agreement excludes, restricts or changes any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
14Confidentiality and privacy
We each keep the other's business information confidential and only use it to deliver this service. We will only use your business name or results in our own marketing with your written permission.
15Disputes and general
If an issue comes up, we both agree to raise it in writing and talk it through in good faith before taking any other action. This agreement is governed by the laws of South Australia. Any change to it must be in writing and agreed by both of us.
